I began my genealogy research back in 2015, after the passing of my great-grandmother. Her father was a well-known one-armed guitarist who had won a contest and never returned home. I started on Ancestry.com, and within hours I had found records on her father that nobody in my family had seen before. Needless to say, I became hooked, and have been researching and compiling family histories ever since.
Discovering historical facts and figures about my family made me extremely proud of my heritage – I have always been a family man, but after completing nearly 9 years of research, I have a renewed connection to my immediate family and my ancestors. I have been able to compile a history book for my family that will last for the generations to come. This journey has brought me closer to my aunts, uncles, and cousins that I either had not spoken to in years, or that I didn’t even know existed.
